42nd Anniversary of Black Sunday

June 1, 2022, will mark the 42nd anniversary of Black Sunday, when referee Toros Kibritjian and linesman Gordon Arrowsmith conspired to do whatever it would take to rob the Dips of their rightful victory over the Cosmos. Whatever it took amounted to disallowing two Diplomat goals on the shakiest of terms. Soccer America featured the crime as a cover story.
