Despite the fragile economic situation of the 1980 Dips, the club still planned to produce and publish a highlight film for that year, just as they had the previous 3. Those from 1978 and 1979 were done by the folks at NFL Films, with John Facenda narrating. It is clear from the slow motion action clips in the video that NFL Films was going to be making the 1980 version as well. The film was never completed due to the financial reality the club faced. However, a four minute clip of that film still remains. It is in such an early stage of the production process that the film only contains footage. No narration or background music had been introduced to this small sample of the 1980 version. Special thanks to Dips GM Andy Dolich for sharing this rare piece of Diplomats history.
